A Participatory Performance Concludes the Exhibition “Ciò che resta” (What Remains)
On Saturday, 25 July at 7:00 pm, Spazio LOC – Laboratorio Orlando Contemporaneo in Capo d’Orlando, a participatory performance open to the public will take place as part of my solo exhibition: Ciò che resta. Opere, tracce e archivi di Eleonora Gugliotta (“What Remains. Works, Traces and Archives by Eleonora Gugliotta”).
The evening will begin with three short talks focusing on the situation in Palestine and the work carried out by solidarity networks active in the region. Speakers include Serena Baldini, president of the association Vento di Terra (“Wind of Earth”) (joining online), Patrizia Corpina, member of the Global Sumud Flotilla Legal Team, and Elisabeth Di Luca, from the Freedom Flotilla – Rete 100 Porti 100 Città.
The participatory performance will follow, during which visitors will be invited, on a voluntary basis, to donate a small lock of their hair.
The hair collected will not only include that donated during the evening, but also the hair that visitors have chosen to leave throughout the exhibition period. Brought together in a single artwork, it will form a map dedicated to Palestine, created through the traces of those who chose to take part.

Throughout my artistic practice, human hair represents a trace of human presence and, at the same time, a symbol of resistance. This new work revisits themes previously explored in the projects Donna Vita Libertà (Woman Life Freedom), dedicated to Iranian women, and Spoglie (Spoils), where the body continues to exist through what remains of it. This performance is also part of an ongoing research practice that uses the body and its residues as tools for reflecting on memory, identity, and forms of individual and collective resistance.
The artwork will be officially presented on Friday, 31 Julyduring the closing event of the exhibition, for which Spazio LOC will exceptionally remain open in the evening. Ciò che resta. Opere, tracce e archivi (What Remains. Works, Traces and Archives) will remain on view until that date.
The initiative is open to everyone and requires no prior preparation or experience: those who wish to take part may contribute to the creation of the artwork, while others are welcome simply to attend the performance and the introductory talks.

The performance took place on 25 July 2026 as part of the exhibition Ciò che resta (“What Remains”).
