Solo Exhibition by Eleonora Gugliotta in Capo d’Orlando

Ciò che resta. Opere, tracce e archivi di Eleonora Gugliotta (“What Remains. Works, Traces and Archives by Eleonora Gugliotta”) is the title of my solo exhibition, which will be on view from 4 to 31 July 2026 at Spazio LOC – Laboratorio Orlando Contemporaneo in Capo d'Orlando, Sicily.

This exhibition marks a particularly meaningful return for me: it is my first solo show in the town where I was born and raised.

Negli anni il mio percorso mi ha portata da Capo d’Orlando a Palermo, poi a Milano e, più recentemente, a Perth, in Australia, dove vivo e lavoro attualmente. Muovermi tra luoghi, paesaggi e contesti differenti ha inevitabilmente influenzato anche la mia ricerca artistica, portandomi a riflettere sempre più sul rapporto tra memoria, identità, trasformazione e traccia.

Ciò che resta (“What Remains”) emerges precisely from this need to look back on my journey and bring its different layers into dialogue. The exhibition brings together works from various stages of my practice—installations, photographs, textile works, organic materials, archives and performative practices—united by the same question: what remains of the things we experience, the places we inhabit and the events that transform us?

At the centre of the exhibition is the series Spoglie (Spoils), in which the body becomes a fragile and transient presence, suspended between the visible and the invisible.

Around this central body of work, other projects unfold, including Ambienti (Environments), dedicated to the memory of abandoned places and the traces they continue to hold, and Scorie Microcosmiche (Microcosmic Residues), a collection of residual fragments and intimate materials that become archive and narrative.

Collaborations

The exhibition is curated by Elena Vukosavljevic for Art4Women – RoadShow e ospita inoltre una project room dedicata a una selezione di artiste della community. È prevista anche la collaborazione con Vento di Terra (“Wind of Earth”), associazione impegnata da anni in Palestina attraverso progetti educativi, sociali e umanitari, a cui sarà devoluto parte del ricavato della vendita delle opere.
Il 25 luglio alle ore 19.00 si terrà un evento pubblico con la partecipazione di Vento di Terra e una performance collettiva, pensata come gesto condiviso di memoria, partecipazione e responsabilità.
